Meet Our Gold Buckle Pros

The Gold Buckle Pro program was developed to levarge the best experience and reputations in each discipline to give an unbiased 3rd party evaluation of confirmation, gentleness, and overall performance of the horses consigned to our sale.  Gold buckle pros are compensated on a flat rate to make sure they have no alternative motives other than to verify what each consignor has said about the horse.

Cody has loved horses since he was a little boy and has done everything from roping, ranching and hunting on horses to running a dude ranch in Hawaii.

When he worked in Hawaii he bought horses from the mainland and had them shipped to Hawaii and trained them and sold them to people on all of the islands for team roping and polo.

He loves to watch his two sons rodeo in the junior high and high school circuits. There aren’t very many days that go by where Cody isn’t on a horse.

He loves to buy prospects and help his friends and family find horses that fit them.

Finding and buying prospects can be very challenging and time consuming in today’s day and age.

We think it should be a lot easier and that’s where Certified Gold Buckle Horse Sales come in!

When I saw what Gold Buckle was trying to do for the horse sale world and how they are trying to be an advocate for the buyer I knew I wanted to be part of that.

I’m a fifth-generation ranch raised cowboy who’s roots run deep in the western lifestyle.

I’m happily married to my sweetheart of 34 years, and together we have 4 kids and 7 grandkids.

I have spent the better part of my 52 years on the back of a horse and have had the opportunity to work with and associate with some of the best cowboys and team ropers in the business.

I have been a PRCA card holder since 1992 and still love to compete at the highest level.

I have trained and sold horses to the public for my entire adult life and feel like I have a good idea of what people look for and expect from a horse sale.

I’m excited to be part of this fast-growing horse industry through the Gold Buckle program.

Kylie’s personal manta is that you can achieve anything if you have enough grit, try and perseverance.

Justin Collins grew up living the western way of life in Belle Fourche, SD. He knew from
an early age that he wanted to make a living with horses.

As a kid, he worked for local ranchers and breeding programs while also competing at youth and high school rodeos at the state and national level.

Justin attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on a rodeo
scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business Management. While in Oklahoma,
he had the opportunity to work for professional trainer and clinician, Phil Haugen.

With Phil’s guidance and mentorship, Justin refined his horsemanship skills and found his
talent for starting and training young horses, especially rope horses. He then went on
to be a South Dakota Rodeo Assn. and Northwest Ranch Cowboy Assn. Finals qualifier in the heading.

He’s also won or placed at numerous Wrangler, World Series, and USTRC events.

Justin now lives at Ludlow, SD, where he operates his own successful training
business, J. Collins Horsemanship.

With the boom of the barrel racing industry, he has specialized in starting 2 yr old barrel racing prospects. Most have successfully
graduated to well known futurity trainers. He also accepts rope horses for training and/
or sales prep, with an emphasis on heading and breakaway roping.

Justin believes in a well rounded foundation for each horse he rides.

His years of experience starting colts from the ground up has helped him be able to identify strengths and weaknesses in performance horses and prospects.

Justin is excited to be included on the Gold Buckle Pro Team and eager to bring his skill set to this new online sale program in the northern region.
